I have no idea what to say to a woman to get her interested, let alone respond. I feel ugly and boring every time I reach out and get no response.

To Frustrated Online Daters Everywhere,
Always keep in mind that no matter what you do, not every single person you contact is going to respond. That doesn't mean that you're ugly or boring. Don't ever doubt yourself and your worth just because you don't hear back from someone. And remember when people block you, they might just be saying "I'm not interested." Check out this article for more about blocking.
When you contact a person who interests you, make sure that you're always commenting on what it was that made you want to contact them. If you have something in common, no matter how small that something may be, make sure to mention that. When you do this, it instantly takes some of the pressure off and makes those first few messages less awkward because you have that common interest to discuss.
Then, once you've made that connection by mentioning what made you want to contact and anything you might have in common, close your message by asking a question or two about something the person has mentioned in his or her profile.
I don't want to put too much emphasis on that first message, but at the same time, that's your first impression, so it's important that you're taking the time to stand out from others.
