Well, I have a secret for you. The most active people on dating websites are the most likely to respond to messages, and are therefore given the most visibility on the website. And they are shown highest in search result listings.
So, the best way to show up higher in more people's searches, and thus increase you chances of getting seen, is to be more active!
Great, you're thinking. But what does "being more active" online mean?
Here are some ways to stay active:
1. Update your profile picture every few months.
2. Add new pictures to your profile frequently.
3. Update your profile. Change your intro or tweak some of the descriptions you've written about yourself and what you're looking for.
4. View more profiles yourself. Use the search tool here to find profiles.
5. Send messages to people who interest you. And when I say messages, I don't just mean a "hey, how are you?" message. I mean a personalized message where you mention something specific to them; maybe an interest you have in common
6. Participate in the forums. Find a topic that interests you here.
You never know what sentence you write or what new picture you post will grab someone's attention. Just like offline you never know who will notice something you say or how you look on a particular day.
Offline, keep going to events where you know there will be singles and then actually talk to people who interest you. And online, keep changing your profile and reaching out to new people as well. The more you get out, the more you'll be seen.
