The entire CatholicMatch staff especially the three owners Mike, Jason & Brian is so grateful for the support and looks forward to serving the Catholic community for many million members more.
Why did you decide to join CatholicMatch?
I joined CatholicMatch because my one friend at work told me that two of her friends found their husbands on the website and finding a partner who values the catholic faith like I do is very important to me.
Did you have any negative connotations about online dating before you joined?
I was hesitant to join online dating because of the fear of people being dishonest after seeing the show Catfish and hearing stories about it from other people.
Were you intimidated by the profile process (writing about yourself, putting up pictures, etc)?
I am very open with people about who I am so I did not find it intimidating at all.
What were your expectations before you joined the site?
Honestly, my expectations were low just because I was unsure of the entire process, but it has turned out to be much better than expected.
What has been your impression of the CatholicMatch community so far?
The CatholicMatch community has been excellent so far. Everyone has been very kind and respectful.
What is your impression of online dating now?
My impression of online dating has changed drastically since joining CatholicMatch and experiencing it myself rather than going off of what other people were saying. After interacting with some people in the community, I realize it is not nearly as intimidating as some people make it out to be.
What advantages does CatholicMatch offer over meeting people in person?
The big advantage I have noticed is that it is much easier to find people with similar interests. My faith is the most important thing in my life and I want to find a significant other that feels the same way. I think the CatholicMatch profile setup helps you to determine how serious people are about their faith and what other interests you have in common. It's also a lot less intimidating to reach out to someone in a message to see if they are interested than it would be to approach someone in person.
In what way has CatholicMatch exceeded your expectations?
I was very impressed with how CatholicMatch's profiles are setup. The questions they ask really help you figure out if you would be interested in a person.
What is your ideal date?
I love a romantic guy so doing something creative and different with great conversation would be terrific!
What are your favorite activities?
I am really into sports, especially the Pittsburgh teams, so I love when I get a chance to attend a game. I enjoy going to church and I'm very close with my family and friends so we have a great time doing just about anything. I also love being outdoors and having bonfires!
What is the best dating advice you've ever received?
The best advice I received was when I was talking to my sister about being nervous going on a date and she said what is the worst thing that could happen? Just go and be yourself and see what happens.
What do you love about the Catholic faith?
One of my favorite things about the Catholic faith is that we read from the Bible during Mass. There are always lessons to be learned from the Bible and I feel like I learn something new every Mass from the readings and Gospel.
In what ways are you joyfully living out your faith until the time when you can fulfill your vocation to marriage?
For now, I have been trying to attend Bible studies to become more educated and apply what I learn in everyday life. My goal is to live out the Gospel through my life and to share my faith through my actions.
Editor's note: In honor of our one million registered members, CatholicMatch would like to highlight more of our current members. I'd love to hear advice from our own community members about what you love about the Catholic faith, what is the best dating advice you ever received, and how you are joyfully living out your faith as a single Catholic, right now?
