Karen-547169 is a 38-year-old single mom from Farmington, Mich. She hails from a large, close-knit family – the youngest of seven.
The green-eyed beauty enjoys cooking, dancing and traveling, especially by the ocean.
Once her son began school, Karen felt she had the time to earnestly search for a mate. Joining CatholicMatch was a no-brainer. “I can’t imagine not sharing my faith and the Mass with my other half,” she said. “It is so great to see that there are still a lot of faithful Catholic singles out there.”
She’s enjoyed the site even more than she expected. “I think that CatholicMatch is a great resource on many levels for Catholic singles – for dating and more.” Her favorite component? Reading “inspiring” success stories. “And it is nice to move from emailing to a chat on a secure site,” she added.
Dating as a never-been-married single mom isn’t easy, Karen admits. “I want to be sure that the person I open my heart to can also open his heart to my child. My son is such a sweet, loving child. But because he is so precious to me, I am not quick to introduce him. I will know in my heart when that feels right. And when it is, my son will be an added blessing in his life too.”
Looking on the lighter side of things helps Karen stay young at heart. She and her son laugh often. Some days they sing and dance in the kitchen.
Having the right perspective helps too. Karen knows she’s not the only one reconciling past wounds in the pursuit of a spouse. “I think most of the singles out there have had relationships in their past that did not work out. Hopefully we can take the lessons learned from our past and apply them to our future.”
Her deep faith gives her a positive attitude. “I am guessing that whoever He has out there for me is going to be worth the wait! Ultimately, I have to trust that God has a plan and have faith that I am where I am supposed to be for now and that I will be where He intends me to be tomorrow.”
In the meantime, Karen will tap into the power of prayer. “I don’t think anyone can spend even 15 minutes in adoration without feeling more peace.”
