Last March, I started my account with CatholicMatch.com with no real expectations. Stephanie started hers about a year before, but never had much luck with it. I had done some very random, nationwide searches, and she "just happened" to be one of them. I didn't even have a picture up yet.
The Encounters bar notified her that I'd looked at her profile. She looked at mine, and noticed that I was moving to San Antonio soon. Oddly enough, so was she. She e-mailed me, and I responded. We kept that up for about two or three weeks, until I finally managed to catch her on AIM. We talked for a couple of hours, and I gave her my phone number. The subsequent call lasted about four hours. The next night, we talked for another four hours. After that, we talked on the phone nearly every day, on the way to work or back. We knew we liked each other, but neither of us really expected it to turn into anything worth writing about.
On June 24th, I finally made the move to the San Antonio area. The next day, I drove over to Stephanie's place to meet her face to face for the first time. I was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. But she opened the door, and instantly everything changed. Just like in the movies. No joke. The instant I saw her eyes, I knew she was the one. My heart skipped a beat, and then it was gone. We went to Chili's, and talked enough to work out the butterflies that were infesting both of our stomachs. I saw her again the next day, and I told her what I knew to be the truth. I loved her.
Since then, our time together has been a bliss of getting to know each other. Learning each other's little quirks and ticks, personalities and humors. We're planning our wedding to be sometime late next summer. I know, it seems all too soon. All too fast. But more than that, I know it's right. Thanks to this site, I've met my Soulmate. There's no other way that a boy from Arkansas and a girl from Ohio could have met in Texas. Thanks, guys!
