Dennis and Colleen both lived in the Chicago suburbs, and he liked what he saw as he reviewed her profile. “We had many things in common,” Dennis told CatholicMatch. The couple laid the groundwork by spending a few weeks exchanging messages online and then deciding it was time to take the relationship into the real world. “We met for dinner and had a wonderful conversation,” Dennis said.
Colleen shared Dennis’ view of that first date and told him he was welcome to call her again. That dinner and conversation led more of the same, and the dates eventually led to meeting each other’s families. Dennis & Colleen not only felt a connection with each other, but with the extended family they met. “I knew that one day I would have to be part of it,” 50-year-old Dennis recalled, as he reflected upon Colleen’s clan.
After seven months of dating, it was time to take the next step and Dennis proposed marriage to Colleen, who accepted. They are planning their wedding for this coming July. “She is truly my soulmate,” Dennis said. “I can’t thank God…enough for bringing us together.”
