Won't you join me for a special trip to Italy with CatholicMatch on Oct. 6-16th, 2016?
We are going to explore food, faith, culture, friends and fun.
One of the ways that we are going to do it is through—wine!
On this Catholic pilgrimage we will visit three regions in Italy: Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany.
In each of these regions we will experience the local wine and raise a glass in a toast to remember the blessings that God has given to us.
Did you ever wonder why Jesus reveals himself in bread and wine? Because there is a Theology of Food.
On this trip you will learn about the Catholic symbolism found in the production of wine.
Wine is the fruit of the vine, work of human hands.
Starting with the crushing of the grapes we learn about our own contrition.
Through the tasting of the wine, we learn about being aware of what we are sensing, experiencing and what does it really mean to discern what God is calling us to do.
Just like at the wedding feast of Cana, we know that God's mercy is abundant. He is guiding us to his merciful heart.
I raise my glass to you and invite you to this special trip because it is going to be fantastic and delicious!
