International recording artist Josh Groban launched his “Straight to You” world tour earlier this month. He will undoubtedly perform hits like the beloved ballad, “You Raise Me Up,” but he'll also feature new songs from his album, “Illuminations,” such as “Hidden Away,” a song that provides great insight for single Catholics.
“And all these words you were meant to sayHeld in silence day after day
Words of kindness that our poor hearts crave
Please don't keep them hidden away…”
The lyrics speak of opening your heart, expressing your true feelings and living your life without regrets – all things to strive for, especially for Catholics in the dating scene.
There comes a time when each of us realizes how futile it is to sit silently in the background while potential spouses come in and then out of our lives. You learn to set aside your fears and confidently express what you feel, what you believe and what you want.
"Please don't keep your heart hidden away,” Josh Groban sings. Put your heart out there, and even if your feelings are not reciprocated, at least you know you were honest enough with yourself to not keep your heart hidden away.
