Novena For Love Relationships (Catholic Prayers For A Husband Or Wife)

96

Have you ever said a novena for love? if not, keep reading! Every single Catholic should be aware of the power of prayer as they search for love. In this article, we will share our favorite Catholic prayer for a soulmate! But, before we go any further, here's some inspiration as to why you should pray and seek the powerful intercession of saints when you're searching for your future spouse.

Pope Francis tweeted a message on Twitter that is a great slogan for all single Catholics:

"Christians are always full of hope; they should never get discouraged." -@pontifex

To be always full of hope and never discouraged—even when you're lonely and wondering when it will be your turn to find love—is a great witness to the world but admittedly one that isn't always easy to keep up. But it's a guidepost for those days when you just don't feel like putting a smile on your face. Entrust your frustrations to our Heavenly Father, He always knows what to do with them!

How did novenas for love originate?

Prayer is the key to linking your yearning heart to the will of God, and being able to tap into that hope that keeps you motivated and moving forward. Here is just one woman's personal account of how prayer to Saint Anne for a husband led her directly to her future husband. Here's how it happened for Annie Piekarczyk (now Deddens) in her own words:

"I’m not always very patient, but I am diligent. About three years ago, I started praying to Saint Anne. I never knew too much about her, but a few girls I used to live with joked about asking Saint Anne to, “send me a man as fast as you can!” It was quick, catchy and it caught on.

At the time, I knew of another girl who also prayed to her and, who shortly thereafter, met her future boyfriend (and now husband). So I thought I would try it and see how things worked out—and let me tell you, it definitely worked out!

I prayed the novena to St. Anne a couple of times—and all the while, I had been growing in patience and learned to trust more in God’s timing and His will for my life—not just for my heart.

I knew that I wanted to grow a relationship and build a career centered around my faith—rather than a faith that somehow worked itself around a relationship and a career. And I wanted to marry someone who shared those same values and the same faith—so that’s what I was praying for.

It was maybe about a week after I finished the novena that I met John-Paul. I was working as a reporter at the time, and I actually ended up contacting him as a source for a pro-life campaign I was covering. We met for the interview—probably one of the longest interviews I’ve ever done (he’s not a big talker—but he was talking a lot!). Afterward, I turned off my recorder, was ready to go—but he surprised me and said, “So, tell me about yourself.” The tables had been turned! I had been a reporter for a while—always the one asking questions, so this definitely made him stand out to me.

A couple of months later, we began dating—we dated for about a year and a half before we got engaged. During that time, I continued to pray through St. Anne’s intercession—her novena, among others, and those prayers changed my life. I’m not sure I would have met John-Paul if I hadn’t prayed to St. Anne and if I hadn’t covered that pro-life campaign three years ago. Pray More Novenas wouldn’t even exist if I hadn’t met him or if I had never learned about a novena—but that’s another story."

What a beautiful story of romantic love that began with love for the will of God and acceptance of His timing. Not only did the habit of prayer lead them to find each other, but it also became the signature of their life as a couple. Their website is PrayMoreNovenas.Com, a site dedicated to helping people enrich their lives and discover God's will through prayer, specifically novenas.

Catholics have been saying novenas for hundreds of years, especially ones to find their soulmate. In fact, the novena to St. Raphael the Archangel for a future husband or wife is very popular! As are ones to the Holy Spirit, St. Padre Pio, St. Anthony, The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, and also St. Valentine. The Catholic Church is simply full of novena options!

Saint Anne Novena for Love

If you are interested in a novena for love relationships, the Novena to St. Anne is a great one!

If you are interested in praying the Saint Anne Novena for love, or for finding a relationship, or for finding a husband, go here to bring up the entire nine days’ worth of prayers. But, also be sure to check out a brief overview of every day’s intentions below.

Day 1

With an understanding that Saint Anne knows how it feels to wait for God to grant your desires, ask that Saint Anne may ask God to grant your petition the way He granted hers.

Day 2

Knowing that Saint Anne’s prayers were not fully answered for decades, we come to her striving to trust and have faith in God just as she did, as you wait for your own answer.

Day 3

In fighting against the temptation to have any perceived lacking in your life override all the graces from God, ask that Saint Anne would pray for you in never forgetting the goodness that does currently exist in your life.

Day 4

It can be tempting to turn away from God when we feel like He isn’t answering our prayers in the way we desire. Today we ask Saint Anne to pray for us in our relationship with Christ.

Day 5

Today we ask Saint Anne to pray for us in never ceasing to pursue a relationship with the Lord. Through all the temptations that the world holds, however good they are or appear to be, we ask for the grace to never forget we are made for eternal life with Christ.

Day 6

Saint Anne knows of the pain that comes from waiting on a wanted prayer, and so we ask for her to pray for us and our own healing from the pain that comes from our wanted prayer.

Day 7

Today we ask for Saint Anne to help us carry the heavy cross of desiring a spouse, and to remind us that we are not alone in carrying our cross with the gift of family and friends that God has already surrounded us with.

Day 8

Through the humble realization that we often go to other things for comfort before coming to Christ, we ask Saint Anne to pray for us, that we would become better at going straight to Christ for the true comfort that we desire.

Day 9

Today we ask Saint Anne to pray for us in becoming more grateful to Christ and all He has given us, that all our prayers may not just be petitions but also ones of love and gratefulness.

A beautiful prayer to St Anne for love:

Then, of course, there is the classic, prayer which is often said along with the words, "Good St. Anne find me a man"! While not a novena, it can easily be turned into one simply by saying it once a day for nine days.

O Glorious St. Anne, you are compassionate toward those in need who invoke your heavenly intercession. Burdened with life’s difficulties, I place myself before you, and ask that you assist me with the petitions and intentions I now recommend to your special protection.

(Here mention your requests.)

Place my concerns before Our Lord Jesus Christ, and seek the loving aid of your

daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please continue interceding for me until my requests are granted.

Above all, obtain for me the grace of one day seeing Almighty God face to face, with you and Mary and all the saints, honoring and praising God through all eternity.

Pray for us, good St. Anne. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Gracious God, who chose St. Anne to bring into the world the mother of Your only Son. Mercifully grant to us who devoutly honor her memory, the grace of happiness in this life, and the joy of life with You for all eternity. Amen.

Final takeaways about love novenas

Embarking on a novena for finding a husband is one many have done and have found great comfort in. Even if it doesn’t immediately lead to a husband, the Lord still hears your prayers. Immediate reaction (or the lack thereof) does not reflect the efficacy of the time you spent praying to God. Remember, our God is a very loving father and He only wants what is truly best for you (as does Our Lady)!

And you have no idea what your novena will lead to in His plan for your life, which can be looked at as a very positive thing. If you are looking to pray a Catholic prayer for love, Saint Anne is your main gal!
