It was several years ago that Megan first joined CatholicMatch. The 29-year-old from Phoenix went on a date, but then re-evaluated her plans. “I didn’t think I was as ready as I thought for a relationship,” she admitted.
She spent two years doing a mix of growing in her faith with some occasional dates and then decided to return. “I was really read this time for a relationship with someone who was Catholic, on the same page with me on religion and get married.”
Shortly after Megan returned to CatholicMatch, 28-year-old Justin joined the site. He went out on one date, but the chemistry wasn’t there. One night Megan was on CatholicMatch, with her mother observing. Mom saw Justin’s picture as one who’d sent Megan an emotigram. “She said he was cute and I should respond back,” Megan recalled. “So I did.”
Indeed, mother knew best.
Justin immediately returned communication and that began a three-week run of online correspondence and set the stage for a first date to go hiking. “It was a great hike,” Megan told CatholicMatch. “I felt this great attraction and desire to want to see him again soon!”
Justin & Megan built their marriage on the foundation of a shared faith and shared desire for a family.
