Jonathan and Adriana’s story began in May 2015 on CatholicMatch. Jonathan was 21 years old and was trying out the site for the first time with a free trial. Adriana, who was just 19, was still in college.

One evening, while studying for final exams late at night, Adriana took a break to scroll on her phone and noticed Jonathan had viewed her profile.
Something immediately clicked for her.
“I could tell we had a lot in common,” she said. “We were both really involved in our faith, passionate about the pro-life movement, loved nature, and enjoyed a wide variety of music.”
From the start, their faith shaped their connection. “We made it a priority to attend Mass together every Sunday, prayed the rosary together, went to adoration together often,” Adriana said.

As they began dating more seriously, they even sang side by side in parish choirs. Their shared faith became the framework for every step of their journey.
Adriana said she also appreciated their shared sense of humor and openness—especially after their first encounter, which began with a funny case of mistaken identity. Seeing one of Jonathan’s profile pictures, she assumed he was a professional sports star, only to discover he was just wearing a famous hockey player’s jersey who happened to look a lot like he did!
His lighthearted reaction to the mix-up immediately showcased his humor and charm.

On January 1, 2021, Jonathan proposed in a quiet, intimate moment before the Blessed Sacrament at their local parish. Right afterwards, their priest blessed their engagement in a brief betrothal ceremony, providing a spiritual anchor for the life they were about to build together.
“We really enjoyed preparing for marriage,” Adraian said. “We did a lot of focusing on growing together and preparing our hearts rather than getting caught up in wedding planning, which brought us a lot of peace.”
Their wedding was held on a golden fall day on October 15, 2021. After sharing a kiss at the altar, they also incorporated a unique European Catholic tradition: the marriage crucifix kiss.

The marriage crucifix kiss is a Catholic wedding tradition in which the bride and groom kiss a crucifix to symbolize offering their union to Christ and embracing sacrificial, Christ-centered love.
Adriana and Jonathan now display the same crucifix proudly in their living room as a daily reminder of Christ at the center of their marriage.
Married life has been a continuation of their shared faith journey, filled with prayer, travel, and service.

Jonathan and Adriana’s relationship has drawn them closer to God. Together, they participate in consecrations to St. Joseph and Our Lady, pray novenas, and have established daily rituals, like praying the rosary during their commutes. Adriana reflects, “When we put Christ at the center of our relationship, it naturally brings us closer to God.”
For both, CatholicMatch was the bridge to a partner who shared their devotion and vision for life. “It was hard finding someone serious about their faith in everyday life,” Adriana noted. “CatholicMatch made it so much easier to meet someone solid in their faith and excited to grow in holiness together.”
Their advice to others seeking a faith-centered relationship emphasizes patience, trust, and intentionality:

“Don’t give up,” Jonathan said. “Keep praying and trust God because He has a plan for you.”
Adriana added that putting trust in God is important, as well as leaning on prayer. “Pray for your future spouse, but also pray for your own heart to grow in faith and peace,” she said. “Look for someone who helps you grow closer to Christ. And in the meantime, live fully, serve, and find joy in the season you’re in. God hasn’t forgotten you.”
